Centre for Scientific Instrumentation

The VICS Centre for Scientific Instrumentation (CSI) designs and constructs scientific instruments for use in teaching and research. We develop cost-effective designs which come with a “value-add” package including:

operating instructions.
instrument control and data capture software compatible with personal computer operating systems.
instructions for teaching experiments and laboratory use.
background information for students on how the instrumentation works.

Low Cost High Performance Instruments

VICS-CSI instruments are designed to perform specific tasks with minimum complexity. Using tight integration of sensors, data acquisition electronics, and embedded microprocessor technology, we deliver solutions to a range of chemical measurement problems, unsurpassed in performance/price ratio.

All VICS-CSI instruments come with LabVIEW* control programs allowing operation from a PC, providing a professional graphical user interface, and making them extremely easy to use.

We Understand Teaching

VICS-CSI instruments are designed to perform measurements as well as to teach principles of instrumentation. Our instruments are supplied with detailed operating manuals and laboratory tested experiments developed by tertiary education professionals; a package indispensable for modern chemistry teaching.

VICS-CSI Polarimeter

A polarimeter, designed by VICS-CSI has been licensed to eDAQ Pty Ltd for manufacture and worldwide distribution.
